The Tulsa Golden Hurricanes are known as a program that has produced some of the highest scoring offenses in the country over the last several seasons. Not much has changed when they have the ball but when they are defending their field things have changed quite a bit. Tulsa has put one of the best stop units in Conference USA. The Golden Hurricanes are limiting their opponents to just 18.2 points per game and 312.7 yards per contest. That includes giving up 45 points to Oklahoma and 28 to Boise State. UTEP has struggled on offense this season gaining an average of 332.3 yards per game. The offense has potential but turns the ball over too much to make up for their defensive flaws. The 49ers have the 119th ranked defense in the country and have been torched for 140 points over their last three games. The major weakness that Tulsa has is their pass blocking and they match up well here with a defense that doesn't get any penetration into the offensive backfield. Tulsa is 8-1 coming off a bye and are 3-0-1 in October. Tulsa has their sights on getting back to the conference championship and should control this game and cover the spread easily.
